Multi-Languaging Poetry
How do writers compose poems in two or more languages? What craft choices and poetic occasions are made possible by bi- or multi-lingualism? In this course, we will engage with poems by Zeina Hashem Beck, Don Mee Choi, Victor Hernández Cruz, Tsitsi Jaji, and others to explore these questions. We will discuss and practice several poetic techniques and generate new poems of our own. Writers at various levels of language mastery can engage with and benefit from this course.
