Queer Writers & the Everyday Sublime

In her essay "Modern Fiction," Virginia Woolf wrote, "Let us not take it for granted that life exists more fully in what is commonly thought big than in what is commonly thought small." In this generative seminar, we will look at the role of the quotidian in poetry and prose from a selection of queer writers (such as Frank O'Hara, Ocean Vuong, John Ashbery, Virginia Woolf, and Renee Gladman) and write our own pieces exploring the potential of the everyday.
