Writing Critical Essays & Reviews

As the saying goes, everyone's a critic. Or are they? Students interested in criticism—literary, music, cultural—will explore the art of critical writing by studying the work of others and producing their own work. We'll read a variety of pieces, from snarky book and Pitchfork reviews to more sober works of political criticism. Students can expect lively, inclusive discussions; exposure to a range of work; and to produce a portfolio of their own.
